Llewellyn (Lew) LeVan, 85, of Bluffton, SC, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family, Saturday, January 29, 2011. He was born in St. Lawrence, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late William P. and Eva Grace (Paulsgrove) LeVan. As young man he was proud to be a member of the John Philip Sousa Memorial Band and the last Loews Theater Cadet Band, both of Reading, Pennsylvania. Lew graduated from Mt. Penn High School and went on to graduate from Penn State University in 1948, with degrees in Engineering and Forestry. He played trombone in the Penn State Blue Band. He worked for New Holland Machine, as an engineer; and he had a long career with Xerox Corporation in Rochester, New York. His fondest memories were of the 100 acre Black Angus Farm in Upstate New York, where he raised his young family of three girls to appreciate life and hard work.In 1978, Lew and his wife sold their farm and moved to Palmetto Dunes on Hilton Head, South Carolina.
