Lloyd Bowers, 89 of Ridgeland, SC and formerly of Hardeeville, SC passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Veterans Hospital in Charleston, SC.
He was born in Ashepoo, SC on September 1, 1925 to the late Howell and Addie Crosby Bowers. He and his wife, Jean Reynolds Bowers, who preceded him in death were the owners of the Lucky Dollar Supermarket in Hardeeville. After retiring he was employed at Pintail Creek Golf Club and was an avid golfer. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korea. He was a member of Ridgeland Baptist Church and the Anglers Sunday School Class. He had perfect attendance for 54 years. He as a member and Past Master of Hardeeville Masonic Lodge, was a member of the Scottish Rite Consistory and was a Shriner.
He is survived by his daughter, T'Lene Sanders (Lance) of Bluffton, SC and three grandchildren, Sarah Sanders of Bluffton, Corey Sanders ( Christine) of Durham, NC and Taylor Sanders of Clinton, SC. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Ralph Bowers and Vernon Bowers and his sister, Lerrel Sechser.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC with burial in Ridgeland Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
