Lois Ann (Rahenkamp) Fales

March 1, 1936 — November 10, 2024

Lois Ann Rahenkamp Fales, passed away peacefully November 10, 2024 at 88 years of age. She was born March 1, 1936 in Montclair, NJ to George and Elizabeth (Rose) Rahenkamp and grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. She graduated from Trenton State teaching college and later received her Masters Degree in special education. She taught in Japan and Germany for the military for several years. She was married to Charles Daniel Fales (1981) in February 1964 at Spangdahlem Air Base and had a daughter Elizabeth-Rose Fales in Germany and 14 months later a son Roy Daniel Fales in Colombus, Ohio.

After returning to NJ, she taught for Bloomfield NJ until her retirement. She later married Leslie Martin Marks (2006) and they moved to Sun City of Hilton Head in 2002 where she had her dream house. Lois loved to travel and during her retirement, was always on the go seeing the world and staying active in her community as a member of the Lions Club, helping with charities, taking classes at USCB and especially active in her church, St. Gregory the Great as a Lady Hibernian and where ever else asked to help.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and beloved sister LaVerne Catherine (Rahenkamp) Forstenhausler.

She is survived by Elizabeth-Rose Chirite (Monty Gilmore), Roy Daniel Fales (Mary Ann Remke), grandchildren Madison McClain Fales, Charles Max Fales and Jessie Rose Chirite (Timothy Hunter Gilmore and Thomas A. Gilmore II) and many beloved nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing at Sauls Funeral Home on Sunday, December 1, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm with a 3:30 pm Prayer Service. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory the Great at 10:30am on Monday, December 2, 2024. She will be laid to rest on December 3, 2024 at Beaufort National Cemetery with a family service. In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to the NEA to continue Lois’s love of education.
