Lori Marie Brownfield, 48, of Hilton Head Island died suddenly June 7, 2016. Lori was born in Akron, Ohio on February 2, 1968 and moved to Hilton Head in 1976. She was predeceased by her father, Jack.
Lori was a long-time resident of the Island and worked as a chef and caterer for many Island businesses and parties.
Lori is survived by her loving partner of 16 years, Erik Kitchens, mother Carol Keller (Alan) of Hilton Head; sisters Lisa (Steve) Plowden of Hilton Head, Sally Brownfield of Charleston, SC, and Toni Roberson of Richmond, VA; nieces and nephews Cassidy and Jesse Plowden, and Hunter Roberson; Aunt Pat (Larry) Barger of Copley, OH, and cousin Shelly Krampf.
Lori loved Erik, spending time with family, her cat, the beach, and helping others. Some of our families’ favorite posts on Facebook have helped us through this difficult time and gave us perfect descriptions of our beloved. We share the ones that truly explain her loving way and giving heart: “She gave great hugs”, “that unconquerable laugh”, “that smile.”
The family will put her to rest in the lowcountry waters that she loved so much in a private memorial service. A celebration of her life will be held at the Spanish Wells Club from 7 to 9pm June 23rd, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Lori’s name to the Hilton Head Humane Association, P.O. Box 21790, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina 29925 or Osprey Village, P.O. Box 3155 Bluffton, SC 29926, or Program for Exceptional People, 10 Oak Park Dr, Bldg C-1 Box 2 Hilton Head, SC 29926.
