Lorraine J. Bennett

Lorraine J. Bennett, age 81, of Bluffton/Hilton Head, SC and formerly of the Washington, DC area died Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Bennett was born on July 4, 1935 in Perkasie, PA, the daughter of the late Franklin F. Mann and Estella L. Swartley Mann. She worked as a Medical Administrator in the DC area as well as in Bluffton until retiring. She attended The Church of the Cross where she was involved with the hand bells music ministry as well the church’s thrift store, “God’s Goods”. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her sons, Jeffery and Jonathan Bennett, her sister Arlene E. Moore as well as her brothers-in-law, Harry Moore and John Collings. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Walter Bennett; son, Jason Bennett; brothers, Frank Mann, III (Sherry) and Richard Mann (Janet); sister, Shirley Collings; grandchildren, Joshua and Renée; and great-grandson, Chandler. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. Flowers are accepted. Following the service, reception will be held at Indigo Pines, 110 Gardner Drive, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.
