Lorraine (Dolly) Melazzo

Lorraine (Dolly) Melazzo, 88, formerly of Forked River, NJ and Brooklyn, NY, most recently resided in Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on July 20, 2017 at Hilton Head Hospital.

Dolly was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 18, 1929. She was happily married to John Melazzo for 62 years prior to his death on August 15, 2012.

Dolly and John welcomed everyone into their loving home. Everyone was free to speak and they were heartily fed.

Dolly is survived by three loving daughters, Santa Melazzo, Virginia, Melazzo (Lee Huguenin), and Enes Cunningham (John Cunningham). She is also survived by the light of her life, her granddaughter, Kasey Lynn Cunningham.

Dolly will be remembered as a mother to all, a caring and generous friend, and as a strong woman who meant what she said and said what she meant.

Dolly will be missed and loved forever and a day by her family and friends.

A funeral mass will be held at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, GA where she regularly worshipped on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
