Lorrene H Sims

Lorrene H. Sims, age 94, of Hilton Head Island, SC died Saturday, March 14, 2020 at Life Care Center of Hilton Head.

Lorrene was born in Carter, MS, the daughter of the late William Jackson Henderson and Annie Belle Austin Henderson Smith. She relocated to Hilton Head in the early 1990s and held a variety of jobs including phlebotomist, tutor, substitute teacher, and census taker. She was kind and loving, and made friends easily. Lorrene was very special too, and highly regarded by all that knew her.

Lorrene is survived by her daughters, Louise Corsiglia (Jimi Preston) and Dorothy Darden; grandson, Thomas Sims (Ashlyn; children, Maverick, Nora Faye, and Jack); granddaughters, Caitlin Sims, and Susan Cammack (Mike; children, Emma, Gabriel, and Tessa). She is pre-deceased by her husband, John R. Sims; son, John Ray Sims, III; sister, Dorothy Henderson; and son-in-law, Buddy Darden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Lorrene’s name to the cancer research facility of your choice.
