Lottie Chassereau Smith

Lottie C. Smith, 98, of Grays, SC and widow of W. Leon Smith, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2009 in the Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Beaufort, SC.She was born in Estill, SC on April 8, 1911. She was the daughter of the late G. W. and Delilah Breland Chassereau. She was a homemaker. She was a life time member of the Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and was a WMU Director. She was formerly employed at Western Auto Store in Ridgeland, SC.She was survived by one son, Wesley L. (Cootie) Smith and his wife, Carolyn of Early Branch, SC; three daughters, Mildred Stanley and her husband, Ralph of Nixville, SC, Mirian S. Burgess and her husband, Millard of Maple Grove, Minnesota and Ellen S. Etheridge and her husband, Henry of Gillisonville, SC; nine grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.Funeral Services will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 in the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, Grays, SC with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, December 28th at Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland.
