Louis M. Peluso

Louis M. Peluso went into the presence of the Lord with his family by his side on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the age of 81.

Lou grew up in Rahway, New Jersey, where he met his high-school sweetheart, Jean (nee Ruffini). Following graduation from Mt. St. Mary’s College, Jean and Lou married and raised their family in Westfield, New Jersey. After a successful career in the paper industry, the two settled in the Low Country of South Carolina, living there for the past 30 years.

Lou has been a committed member of Low Country Community Church in Bluffton, South Carolina, where he actively served as an elder and in other leadership roles. He approached people as he approached life, with an abundance of warmth, honesty, and the joy of the Lord. Lou’s life was a reflection of his faith exhibited through his kind and gentle strength. He graciously shared his joyous spirit with all those he met and loved.

Lou remains in the hearts and minds of his family as a beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jean, of 59 years. He leaves behind his brother, William; his daughter, Theresa, and her husband, Vincent; his son, Louis, and his wife, Carin; his daughter, Debra, and her husband, William; his grandchildren, Alexandra, and her husband, Joshua, Christina, Olivia, Emma, Annabelle, Nicholas, Jonathan, Sarah, Garrett; and his great-grandson, Louis.

A service celebrating his life will be held at Low Country Community Church, Bluffton, SC, on January 24, 2026 at 1:00 PM.
