Louis Gene Sist

Louis Gene Sist, 69, of Bluffton, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.Louis was born on February 9, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Graziano and Alvera Bellaver Sist.He was a graduate of Western Michigan University. He was a science teacher at Thompson Middle School in Southfield Michigan. He was a saxophone player and leader of Del Royals and The Hitchhikers Bands and played with Stevie Wonder and many other Motown artists. He enjoyed cooking, hockey, fishing and taking his family to Disney World.He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M. Sist of Bluffton, SC; son Louis A. Sist (Jenifer), of Bluffton, SC; two brothers, Raymond L. Sist (Donna) of Hilton Head Island, SC and Robert J. Sist (Judy) of Palm Harbor, FL; a sister, Linda M. Beller of Southfield, MI; and granddaughter Jada Catherine Sist of Bluffton.The family requests any memorial donations be made to Island Hospice, PO Box 22894, Hilton Head Island, SC, 29926.
