Louis A. Weltzer

Louis A. Weltzer, 89, of Bluffton, SC passed away Friday, April 17, 2026 at Broad Creek Care Center of Hilton Head Island, SC.

Louis was born January 22, 1937 in Buffalo, NY, a son of the late Edward and Margaret Weltzer. He retired in 1994 as a Director in the Tax Department for Conrail in Philadelphia, PA. As husband and father, he showed strength in his ability to put others first, support those he loved, and provide a life of happiness and respect for his family and friends. He will fondly be remembered as someone willing to take on most anything and bring along his children to learn as well.

In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Weltzer, and his sister, Esther Weltzer. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Lou Roska Weltzer; two sons, Louis Weltzer (Nancy) of Bluffton SC and Bill Weltzer of Burlington, KY; daughters, Michelle Lubnow (Fred) of Chester Springs, PA, Peggy McCarthy (George) of Summerville, SC, and Carrie Tucker (Jonathan) of Dunwoody, GA; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life at St Gregory the Great RC Church in Bluffton. SC will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, https://curealz.org/.
