Louise McMullen Thomas, 89, widow of L. J. Thomas, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at her home in Hardeeville, SC with her family by her bedside.She was born in Caldwell Parrish, LA on July 16, 1923 to the late Roy McMullen and Bonnie Minor McMullen.She was the retired owner of Thomas Poultry Farm. She met her husband in Monroe, LA when Mr. Thomas was stationed there in the Army Air Corp. They were married in Riverside, CA before he left for the Philippines during WWII. She was a member of Tillman Methodist Church. She enjoyed life on the farm, cooking and feeding her family.She is survived by her son, Len J. Thomas and daughter, Bonnie T. (Duane) Swygert, all of Hardeeville, SC; two brothers, Leroy McMullen of Ruston, LA; James McMullen of Waxahatchie, TX; sister, Elaine McMullen of Hardeeville, SC; grandsons, Len J. Thomas, III and Bryan Thomas; nephews, Don (Joyce) Rogers; D. D. (Helen) Into; David (Lou) Into; Robert Eppinette; Corbet McMullen; James J. McMullen; Robert McMullen; nieces, Jennifer Kelly and Peggy James; special grand nieces, Donna R. Gaylord and Darlene R. Smith; and special care givers, Brenda Arnsdorff and Melia Chalmers.Funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Friday, March 29, 2013 at Sauls Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial in Purrysburg cemetery. The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm until the hour of service at the funeral home.
