Lucy Westberry Newman

Lucy Westberry Newman, age 79, of Green Pond, SC passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018 at home. Mrs. Newman was born on June 24, 1938 in Newhall, WV, the daughter of the late Glenn Everett and Pearly Mae Baldwin. She worked in the hospitality industry for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Clifford Smith Westberry; her husband of 10 years, A. J. Newman; her brother, Frank Baldwin; and her sisters, Corenia Lane and Lorenia Stillwell. She is survived by her sons, Johnny Michael Westberry (Lynn) and Anthony Lawrence Westberry; daughters, Hailey Melody Webber (Scott) and Angel Westberry Bennett (John); brothers, George Baldwin (Regina) and Allen Baldwin; sisters, Julie Smith, Carolyn Scott, Joan Anders (Mike), and Dolly Crockett; grandchildren, Anthony Lawrence Westberry, Jr., Ashley Brown (Ellis), Waylon Clifford Brown, Destiny Victoria Westberry, and Hailey Abigail Bennett; and great-grandchildren, Kaiden Westberry, Nicholas Broxton, Elijah Broxton, Lucy Broxton, Ava Grace Westberry, and Brantley Gordon. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Holy Trinity Church in Ridgeland. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to PruittHealth Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Cancer Society.
