Lyne Proano, 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Sprenger Healthcare of Bluffton.
Born on September 20, 1943, in Pomona, California, she was the daughter of the late Albert Aschieris and Mabel Bennett Aschieris. Lyne devoted her life to education, serving the Long Beach Unified School District in California for many years as both a teacher and an administrator. Her dedication to her students and her passion for lifelong learning left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
After a distinguished career, Lyne and her beloved husband, Pat, retired to Bluffton, South Carolina, where she became a constant encourager of the dancers at Carolina Collective Dance Centre. She had a deep passion for children, always inspiring them to discover their own gifts and grow into the most wonderful versions of themselves. To so many, she was not only a supporter but also a role model and a leader whose influence will live on for generations.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Pat Proano; her daughter and son-in-law, Tess Luechtefeld and Shayne Smith; her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Katrina Sampley; as well as her treasured grandchildren.
Lyne will be remembered for her wisdom, her kindness, and her unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of faith, love, and encouragement will forever shine as a light in the lives of those she touched, and her spirit now rests in the peace of heaven, watching over her loved ones with eternal grace.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, September 29, 2025 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd., Bluffton. The family will receive friends at 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lowcountry Memorial Gardens.
