Margaret (Donohue) Rock

On Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, Margaret Rock, beloved wife, nana, and mother of five passed away at the grand age of 99, at home and in the company of her children. Predeceased by Michael with whom she shared a loving marriage of 53 years on Long Island. She is survived by her children Patrick Lowry, Michael Rock, Melanie Rock, Nancy Mattern and Peggy Brady.

The youngest of eight, she was born in London, England, to Patrick and Elsinore Donohue. Emigrating to America at the age of five, her name is listed on the wall at Ellis Island.

Known to family and friends as Peggy, she dearly loved kids. Friends of her children would call her “Momma Rock”, as she was just the sort of Mom everyone wished they had had. An avid reader, crossword fan and lover of music, Peggy was happiest being social, outgoing, easily approachable and sharp-witted.

Margaret was also blessed with seven grandchildren: Laura Orologio, Sharon Dempsey, Patrick Lowry, Debbie Evans, John Rock, Crystal Watters and Alex Brady. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Kayla, Colin, Madison, Jenna, Danny, Patrick, Kenny and Lilly.

The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 PM on Monday; October 10, 2022 at Sauls Funeral Home in Bluffton, SC.

Funeral Mass:  10:30 AM; Tuesday; October 11, 2022 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Bluffton, SC.
