Margaret Patricia (Way) Mulvey

On July 13 ^th Margaret Patricia “Pat” Mulvey finally reunited with her beloved husband Bill for an overdue martini happy-hour. It wasn’t 5:00, but she lived by the adage “it’s 5:00 somewhere.” She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Pat was from Brooklyn, Bay Ridge to be exact and then raised her children at 144 Ramble Road in Staten Island. After years of service to Central Michigan University, a job she loved, she and Bill retired to Sun City, Bluffton. She enjoyed the southern lifestyle, and was very involved in her community whether it be for fun, work or charity.

She was spirited, passionate, fun, and enjoyed a great party and sometimes a heated argument. She would never be described as a church mouse, but sometimes a Diva. However, she was a woman of God, always an avid reader and spiritual seeker. She enjoyed many parishes over her lifetime, mostly Catholic, but she wasn’t exclusive.

Her hobbies were many, including a love of travel. She was not a woman that was easily bored, as her curiosity was great. Her true love was her family. She missed her husband Bill tremendously these past eight years. She travelled to see her sons John and William often, even in the dreaded Covid year. She was not to be swayed when it came to seeing her grandkids. She will miss Finn, Shane and Elliot but surely will watch over them from above.

Her family wants to thank the friends and neighbors who showed them and Pat so much love, support and care these past few weeks. Their kindness reflects what a great lady their friend Pat was. She will be missed.

Services will be held Thursday, July 22 ^nd at 10:30 am, at St. Andrew Chapel, 222 Pinckney Colony Road, Bluffton. Burial services held at 1 pm at Beaufort National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests good thoughts be sent.
