Marguerite G. Collins

Marguerite Guess Collins, age 96, of Hardeeville, SC, daughter of the late James N  Guess  and Victoria D Guess passed away on September 5, 2020 at Savannah Quarters, Pooler, GA.

Born June 12, 1924 in Lane, SC, Marguerite married Cecil E Collins on April 13, 1946 and they had three children.

Marguerite was loved by so many and had such a kind heart. She and her best friend, Billie Horton visited nursing homes weekly, writing letters for the patients, sending cards and bringing treats. She was a homemaker and a very good cook. Loved to make chicken and dumplings. Wonderful Mother and Wife.

She is survived by her son Donald Collins (Marasri) of Savannah GA, her daughter Dianne Garber (Larry) of Rose Hill Iowa, 8 grandchildren , 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and special friends that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Retired Army SSGT Cecil Collins, her son Cecil Dale Collins, her parents , two brothers, two sisters and a still born grandson Mathew Dale Collins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St., Ridgeland, SC.
