Maria T. Kotterer

Maria T. Kotterer, 79, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Chicago, IL died Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Savannah, GA. Mrs. Kotterer was born in Nuremberg, Germany on February 23, 1935, the daughter of the late Wolfgang Rothenberger and Teresia Schrodel Rothenberger. She worked in tax preparation for H&R Block for many years and retired to Bluffton where she was active within the Sun City community. She attended Lord of Life Lutheran Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Raimond Kotterer; daughter, Barbara Pappas (Andrew) of West Des Moines, IA; sons, Raymond Kotterer (Sharon) of Orland Hills, IL and Thomas Kotterer (Lisa) of Troutman, NC; sister, Karin Schmidtchen of Furth, Germany; and grandchildren, Daniella Pappas, Nikolas Pappas, Erika Kotterer, Anne Marie Kotterer, Zachary Kotterer, Allison Kotterer, and Caroline Kotterer. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2015 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 351 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton, SC 29910. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Heart Association.
