Marilyn Clark Miller

October 29, 1945 — March 28, 2025

Marilyn Clark Miller, 79, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, after a brief illness. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 29, 1945, to Lewis LeGrande Clark and Frances Grace Crump Clark. She was a proud graduate of Tulsa Central High School, where she was actively involved in the Spirit Squad and Drama Club.

Marilyn had a profound love for animals and the outdoors, especially for her beloved horses, a passion that began as a young girl. She dedicated countless hours at the stables, learning the importance of hard work and the joy of reward from that hard work. She was always a very hard worker at everything she did. Throughout her young life, she became a well decorated equestrian, specializing in jumping. She went on to train, board, and break horses for owners when she and her family lived on 56 acres in Meldrim, GA. She truly loved those years. In her later years she took part in showings at our local stables, an experience that brought her immense joy. Marilyn always had a horse of her own from a young girl to just a few years ago when her final horse, Elvis, passed away. Marilyn enjoyed fishing, and often caught more and larger fish than her husband Bill, who was always happy for her fishing successes. He reaped the rewards of her big catches, and some tournament wins as well. Together they shared countless hours on the river, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime. They also enjoyed traveling together, and saw many great places across the USA. She had a love for antiques, and she and Bill owned Gopher Hill Antiques Mall in Ridgeland, SC, for several years. Because of a pink antique bathtub in the front of the business, the pink bathtub races were born for the Gopher Hill Festival which is still a big hit each year.

Her warm and gentle spirit, kind and nurturing heart, love for nature, and dedication to her passions and her family, she will be missed by all who knew her. Most of all she will be remembered as a loving and devoted Wife, Mother and Mema. We are so grateful for all the years the Lord blessed us with together and we look forward to reuniting with her one day.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn was predeceased by her daughter, Brandy Leigh Dillard, and son, Jody Russell Dillard.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of close to 50 years, William Edward Miller, Jr., Son Michael John Dillard (Tulsa, OK), Daughter Brande’ (Wes) Rountree (Ridgeland), Grandchildren Amber Dillard (Tulsa, OK), Jake (Chance) Rountree (Bluffton), Braden Dillard (Tulsa, Ok), Jared Rountree (Bluffton) and Kirsten Dillard (Tulsa, Ok). Sister Linda Stephens (Tulsa, Ok), Brother Larry Clark (Manhattan, NY) and Sister-in-Law Carolyn Wire (Savannah, Ga) along with a host of nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service will be held.
