Marina F. Materazo

Marina F. Materazo, age seventy-three, resident of Bluffton, SC passed away peacefully on October 04, 2012 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Bluffton.Marina, the daughter of Salvatore and Martha Lucchesi was born July 23, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY. As a child she moved to Franklin Square, NY where she graduated from Sewanhaka High School, and Long Island A&T College. In 1960 Marina married her high school sweetheart, Michael.After moves to North Olmstead, OH, and Saratoga, CA the family returned east in 1968, and settled in Bedford Village, NY, where they resided for thirty-seven years before retiring to Bluffton.Marina was predeceased by their oldest son Michael, who died in 2004. Surviving children are Martha A. Ruetsche, and husband Joseph of Mount Prospect, IL, and Matthew C. Materazo and wife MaryJo of Danville, CA.In addition, Marina was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, 1st Lt. James J. Ruetsche, Melody A. Ruetsche, Merrily A. Ruetsche, Sebastian M. Materazo and Alexandra M. Materazo.Funeral and Memorial services will be held at The First Baptist Church of Bluffton on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11am.
