Marion Ralph Stanley, Sr.

Marion Ralph Stanley, Sr., 88, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Hampton Regional Medical Center in Varnville, SC. He was born in Varnville, SC on September 28, 1925 to the late Landy and Lucille Connley Stanley. He was a Telephone Installation and Repair Technician for Sprint/CenturyLink for 42 years; member of Nixville Baptist Church where he was a deacon; US Navy Veteran of WWII in the Pacific from 1943 until 1946; former member and deacon of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping with his family and was a member of the Grays Roadrunners Camping Club. He is survived by his wife of sixty four years, Mildred Smith Stanley of Estill, SC; one son, Benny F. (Melinda) Stanley of Grays, SC; two brother, Kenneth (Dorothy) Stanley and Herbert (Gail) Stanley, all of Grays, SC; nine grandchildren, Rodney, Keith, Timothy, Joy, Tonya, Chad, Brian, Rhett and Dana and nineteen great grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Marion and Phillip Stanley and daughter, Joyce Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Nixville Baptist Church with burial following in Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Grays, SC. A visitation will be held at the family home on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 beginning 6:00 pm. Sauls Funeral Home of Ridgeland is assisting the family with their arrangements.
