Mark Carter

Mark A. Carter, 64, of Ridgeland, SC, passed away on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026 at his home. He was born in Charleston, SC on May 28th, 1962 to Gail Carter and the late Tony Carter.

Mark worked for Yancey Bros in Pooler, GA. He also worked for Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Blanchard Cat just to name a few. He loved his job and his work family. He loved to hunt and fish and play pool. He got nicknames GEECHEECAT, Magoo, and Carterized.

Mark is survived by his wife Paula of 40 years, children, Billie Lamb (Emily) of Hampton, SC, Jewel Carter of Ridgeland, SC, Mark Carter II (Jillian) of Madisonville, KY, Joshua Wright of Ridgeland, SC, six grandchildren, Andria, Anthony, Hayden, Billie, Alyssa, and Anyiah, and a brother, Larry Carter (Cheri) of Chillicothe, OH.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 5 to 7 pm at the Sauls Funeral Home Ridgeland Chapel.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026, beginning at 10 am at the Sauls Funeral Home Ridgeland Chapel with a burial to follow in Sardis Cemetery.
