Mark Childs

Mark Childs, 54, of Ridgeland, SC died Friday, December 30, 2016 at his home.

Mr. Childs was born March 1, 1962 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Prestor Childs and Henrietta Wright Childs. He was a saw operator for Cleland Construction Company and attended New Road Baptist Church. He loved to dance and was life of any party. Mr. Childs was a former shag contest winner at the Gopher Hill Festival. He loved his grandchildren.

Mr. Childs is survived by his wife, Patricia Edwards Childs of Ridgeland, SC; sons, Shaun Polite (Keisha) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Stephen Sharpe of Dallas, TX; daughters, Lorita Orr (Dorian) of Savannah, GA and Brittany Childs (Jameel) of Ridgeland, SC; brothers, Tommy Wright of Ridgeland, SC and Chris Childs (Cassandra) of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Angela Childs of Hampton, SC; and seven grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Kingdom Touch Ministries, 6714 Tillman Rd, Ridgeland, SC followed by burial in Log Hall Cemetery. The family will receive friends 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Sauls Funeral Home, 310 W. Adams St, Ridgeland.
