Marsha H. Browder, 60, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at home in Beaufort, SC. She was born in Charleston, SC on December 9, 1955 to Glennie Marie Liger and Howell Frederick Gross. She was a graduate of St. Andrew’s High School. She received her formal education from the College of Charleston where she earned a degree in teaching. She worked as an elementary teacher in Charleston until moving to Beaufort to her cherished Broomfield Creek in 1991 where she worked and lived until retiring last year. She was a member at St. Helena Anglican Church. She enjoyed time on the river, boats, kayaking, teaching and life in general. She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Rocky Browder, who she married in 1981; her children, Sara Elizabeth Browder Stevens and Drew Browder; sisters, Lynn Swan (Brian) and Susie Seel (Mark); brother, Fred Gross; her loving grandchildren, Hadley Elizabeth Stevens and Kenley Kate Stevens; and many loving nieces and nephews. She truly loved her kids and grandkids, family and neighbors. The family would like to offer a special thanks to Tidewater Hospice, MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, and Dr. Scott Lindhorst and his team. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2016 at The Parish Church of St. Helena, 505 Church Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Randy D. Melvin Memorial Fund, c/o Kelly Collins, 3 Ox Eye Lane Beaufort, SC 29907.
