Martha N. Doolittle

Martha N. Doolittle, 71, passed away Thursday, June 5th, at home under Hospice care. She was a retired school teacher with 30 years service with Chatham County BOE at Mercer Middle School, Garden City, GA. and 10 years service at Thomas Heyward Academy, Ridgeland, SC. She had also served as a youth Sunday School teacher at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ridgeland. Martha was preceded in death by her grandparents, who raised her, McNeil and Leila Doolittle, her aunt and uncle, Paul and Mary (Sister) Brantley and cousin, Rebecca Brantley Morgan. Survivors are Glenda H. Hartley, cousins Elizabeth (Steven) Westgate, Cindy (Randy) Swailes, Walter (Terri) Morgan, Jr. and Kay (Candido) Jimenez, and Walter (Sarah) Morgan, Sr. Martha also leaves behind her pets, as she was an avid animal lover and protector. A memorial service will be held at Grahamville Cemetery on Sunday, July 6, 2014 beginning at 4:00 pm. Remembrances may be sent to Thomas Heyward Academy Library Fund, 1727 Malphrus Rd., Ridgeland, SC, 29936.
