He was born on October 8, 1937 in Hudson, NY to Alexander and Ruth Weaver Monthie.

Martin is survived by his loving wife Ruth Monthie, their sons Keith Monthie, Kevin Monthie (Patricia) and daughter, Mary (Michael) Emmett. Grandchildren Kyle Monthie (Amanda) and Fallon Emmett. Great grandchildren Shawn and Bria Monthie.

He is predeceased by his parents, Alex K. Monthie and Ruth M. Monthie, his brother and sister in law, Mynard G. and Barbara A. and grandson Shawn M. Monthie.
