Martin Clayton Colleran, 85, of Bluffton, SC died March 23, 2013 at his home surrounded by family.He was born on April 8, 1927 in Augusta, GA the son of the late Thomas Joseph and Lillian Louise Johnson Colleran.He served as an US Merchant Marine and was inducted into the Marine Corps, Veteran of Korea and was a former Drill Instructor on Parris Island. He was awarded the Silver Star for his courage in the line of duty. He worked as an Electrical Contractor before going to work for Charles Fraser and Sea Pines Plantation in 1963. He was among the early pioneers in the development of Hilton Head Island, the construction of Harbor Town and Harbor Town Golf Course and miles of infrastructure as construction supervisor for Sea Pines Plantation and later V.P. of community services with Hilton Head Plantation.He is survived by his son, Alex Colleran and wife Margaret Ann; grandson Clayton Colleran and wife Grayson, two great grandchildren, Avalyn Margaret and Sloane Clayton Colleran all of Bluffton, SC and grandson Charles (Rett) Colleran and wife Erin of Bluffton, SC; brother Bobby Colleran of New York and Bluffton; sisters Iris Faye Hyatt of Bluffton, SC and Mary Ann Colleran Dillard of Augusta, GA.He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Joseph Colleran of Beaufort and sister Dorothy
