Martin (Marty) Weber

Martin (Marty) Weber, age 88, of Bluffton, SC and formerly of Mendota Heights, MN died Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Oaks at Pooler, GA. Mr. Weber was born on September 6, 1929 in New York City, NY, the son of the late William and Matilda Weber. He was a veteran of the United States Army and following his military tenure began his career working with the Great Northern Railway in New York City. He retired as the Assistant Treasurer with Burlington Northern, Inc. in St. Paul, MN after many years of service. While living in Bluffton he was a member of the Sun City Veterans, the Money Talks Club, and was a volunteer with Calhoun Station where he served as a board member. He was also a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and was active with the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Mr. Weber is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Nilda Weber; son, Gregory Weber (Julie) of Richmond Hill, GA; daughter, Susan Elsass (Douglas) of St. Paul, MN; brother, Robert Weber (Dorothy) of Westtown, NY; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 24, 2018 at St. Andrew Chapel, 22o Pinckney Colony Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the mass. Burial will follow the mass at Beaufort National Cemetery with military honors rendered by the United States Army.
