Mary "Darlene" Barnes Malphrus

Mary Darlene Barnes Malphrus, 59, of Ridgeland, SC passed away January 10, 2025 at Coastal Carolina Hospital. She was born on December 30, 1965 in Allendale, SC to the late John Daniel and Elaine Deer Barnes. She worked in marketing for 15 years and enjoyed her job very much. She loved to make jewelry, garden her beautiful plants, and volunteer at the Ridgeland Senior Center. She enjoyed going thrift shopping with her children and always loved a good clearance aisle. She also loved all of her animals, each one holding a special place in her heart. From the playful dogs that greeted her with wagging tails every morning to the curious cats that curled up in her lap at night. She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren and spoiling them whenever she could.

She is survived by five children, three sons, Garrett Malphrus (Mary) of Coosawhatchie, SC, Andrew Malphrus of Ridgeland, SC, Jesse Malphrus of Ridgeland, SC, two daughters, Grace Hunt (Sawyer) of Brooklet, GA, Madison Malphrus of Ridgeland, SC, and two grandchildren, Mason and Dalton Malphrus of Coosawhatchie, SC.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Joseph Edward Kistler Malphrus of Ridgeland, SC, two brothers, Willie Barnes of Allendale, SC, and John Barnes of Bamberg, SC.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

There will be no funeral or services held as that was one of her dying wishes.
