Mary Louise Burtell

Mary Louise Burtell, age 89, of Bluffton, SC passed away Sunday, November 4 at her home.

Mary was born March 16, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Margaret and Frank Firsching. She attended Seton Hill University. Mrs. Burtell enjoyed reading, cooking, sewing, travel and taking long walks in the country. Before moving to South Carolina to escape the northern climate, Mrs. Burtell lived in Mars, PA.

Mrs. Burtell is survived by her sister Marjorie Shipe, her daughter Barbara L. Fava, and sons Stephen G. Burtell and Richard T. Burtell. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward G. Burtell, Jr., her brother Richard Firching, her son Mark E. Burtell and her daughter Marjorie A. Burtell.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, November 8 at Low Country Memorial Gardens, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200, Rye Brook, NY 10573 in memory of Mrs. Burtell.
