MARY JANE CARPENTER Aug 21, 1933---March 2, 2014 Mary Jane Carpenter, of Columbus, OH formerly of Hilton Head Island, SC, died on March 2, 2014 at St. Ann's Hospital in Westerville, OH. She was born on Aug 21, 1933 in Stamford, CT, attended Stamford High School and the University of Connecticut at Storrs. She lived in Stamford with an accounting career at American Cyanamid Company until she married Wm. Graham Carpenter in 1965. Mary Jane and Graham lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio and South Carolina. Mrs. Carpenter is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Annie) and Michael (Becky) Carpenter, and one granddaughter Stella A. Carpenter, all of Westerville, OH, her sister Patricia Baker of Marshfield, MA, and 5 nieces and 1 nephew. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Wm. Graham Carpenter, daughter Julia Ellen Carpenter, who was a teacher at Hilton Head Middle School, and granddaughter Ellen Krista Carpenter. Mary Jane was a devout Catholic, dedicated volunteer, and an avid bridge player, retiring to Hilton Head in 1995. The funeral mass will be held at Saint Francis by the Sea Catholic Church 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head, SC on Friday March 7 at 10:00am. Burial will be at Saint Luke's Methodist Church Cemetery in Bluffton, SC. Saul's Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton, SC 29910 is in charge of arrangements. The funeral mass will be held at Saint Francis by the Sea Catholic Church 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head, SC on Friday March 7 at 10:00am. Burial will be at Saint Luke's Methodist Church Cemetery in Bluffton, SC.
