Mary Jenkins Frazier, 83, widow of James Frazier, died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home in Okatie, SC.
She was born on July 01, 1931 in Ridgeland, SC to the late James and Francis Green Jenkins.
She was a well known cook who started with Sea Pines Plantation and worked at Spring Island Plantation until her retirement. She was a member of St. Luke's Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She spent many hours taking care of people in her community who needed nursing care when sickness struck. She was a very loving and caring person.
She is survived by her sons, Chester Jenkins (Audrey) of Hilton Head Island, SC; Clarence Jenkins of Okatie, SC; Abraham Frazier (Cynthia) of Ridgeland, SC; daughters, Dessie Mae Grant and Linda D. Frazier, both of Ridgeland, SC; brothers, Nathaniel Jenkins (Vernie Mae) of Ridgeland, SC; Lawrence Jenkins of New York City, NY; Benjamin Jenkins of Ridgeland, SC; sisters, Louvenia Gregory and Daisy Bell Jenkins, both of Ridgeland, SC; fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Roger Frazier and brother, James Jenkins, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at St. Luke's Baptist Church with burial in Jackville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm til 7:00 pm on Friday, January 09, 2015 at the church.
