Mary Helen Mikell Elliott - March 15, 1955 - April 14, 2014 Mary Helen Elliott died at her home in Bluffton, SC following a long illness. She had a loving heart and a vivacious spirit that made the world a brighter place. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. and Myrtle Mikell of Estill; husband, Carlton Edgar Elliott Sr. of Summerton; and stepmother, Merilyn S. Mikell of Tennile, GA. Survivors include sons, Carlton Edgar Elliott Jr., Charles Mikell Elliott and Matthew Walden Rogan Elliott all of Charleston; brother, Charles H. Mikell Jr. (Amy) of West Columbia; sister, Carol M. Hanna (Leslie) of Estill; dear friend and companion, Robert Berlingo of Stamford, CT and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. The family extends special thanks to Bill Harper for his help during the last months of her illness. A memorial service will be conducted by The Very Rev. Dr. Charles E. Owens, III at the Church of The Cross, 110 Calhoun St., Bluffton at 4:00 pm on Friday, April 25, 2014. Memorials may be sent to the charity of one's choice.
