Mary Ann MillerMary Ann Miller, 73, wife of Joseph S. Miller, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Hilton Head Hospital.The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 17th, from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC followed by the funeral at 1:00 PM. Reverend Ward Scovel will be conducting the service.Mary Ann was born in Cincinnati, OH and raised in Ft. Thomas, KY. She is the daughter of the late Ralph McElfresh and Kathryn Keith McElfresh. She attended Indiana University where she met her husband, Joe, and married shortly following their joint graduation in 1958. Through the years, Mary Ann lived in Twentynine Palms, CA, New Orleans, LA, Jackson, MS, Chatham, NJ, McLean, VA, and the past five years in Sun City Hilton Head, SC. In her post graduate years, she was an art and elementary school teacher in both public and private school systems. She had a full and active life in Sun City where she adored the community, its activities and facilities, and her many friends and neighbors. Mary Ann was an active participant in yoga, water-walking, the Pelican Point Book Club, and the Pine Lakes Bridge Club. Additionally, she loved the Low Country and numerous outings to its festivities and historical areas.She is survived by her husband, Joe of Sun City; son, Gregory Keith Miller of San Francisco, CA; sister, Emily White and her husband Don of Cincinnati OH; sister, Elizabeth DeLong of Timberon, NM; niece, Rebecca Lawson of Camden, SC; niece, Katrina Kenny and her husband Sean of Cincinnati, OH; grand nephew and niece, Aidan and Olivia Kenny, and several cousins and in-laws.As an alternative to flowers, donations may be sent to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, P.O.
