Mary Jo Shields

Mary Jo Shields, 88, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 in Beaufort, SC. Ms. Shields was born on November 2, 1924 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of the late Joseph and Gertrude Studer. She was retired from Consumers Power Company where she worked for many years in customer service. She was a well respected dog breeder, handler, and judge. She was the owner and creator of Kazoo Kennels. She was a member of the Basset Hound Club of America as well as the American Kennel Club. Ms. Shields was preceded in death by her son, Mike Shields. She is survived by her son, Steve Shields and wife Tricia of Bluffton, South Carolina and granddaughter, Molly Shields. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bluffton, South Carolina.
