Mary Ann Smith

Mary Ann Smith, age 70, of Walterboro, SC died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at the Ridgeland Nursing Home in Ridgeland, SC. She was born in Ridgeland, SC, on October 29, 1947, the daughter of John F. Williams and Lois Gaylord Williams. She was a teacher and educator. At Boulder Bluff Elementary and Westview Middle School in Goose Creek and several schools in Berkeley and Dorchester Counties. She was a member of Coosawhatchie Baptist Church; loved to sew and enjoyed gardening. Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Billy Gene Smith; sons, Miles C. Moxley (Elizabeth) of Goose Creek, SC, Patrick W. Smith (Dana) of South Mills, NC, daughters, Felicia M. Thomason (Brian) of Goose Creek, SC, Grace V. Hood (Jeff) of St. Stephens, SC, brothers, Dayton Williams of Hardeeville, SC, John R. Williams (Peggy) of Hardeeville, SC, Norman Williams (Doris) of Georgetown, Fl., sister, Catherine Garrett of Malvern, Ark., nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother, Howard Williams. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Coosawhatchie Baptist Church with burial following the service at Gillisonville Cemetery.
