Mary Virgona

Mary Virgona, age 90, of Bluffton, SC died Friday, May 9, 2014. Mrs. Virgona was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 2, 1923, the daughter of the late Fidele Girgenti and Dominica Surace Girgenti. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Angelo J. Virgona; sons, Charles Virgona (Terry) of Montverde, FL, Richard Virgona (Valerie) of Howey-in-the-Hills, FL, and Fred Virgona (Mariann) of Bluffton, SC; daughter, Mary Buskey (William) of Pine Bush, NY; sister, Helen Caruso of Monsey, NY; grandchildren, Michael Virgona (Brandi), Joseph Virgona (Stacee), and Thomas Buskey. To Mary, her family was everything. She will be greatly missed. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909. Burial will follow the funeral mass at 1:00 p.m. at Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association, 201 Television Cir, Savannah, GA 31406.
