Mary Viola Viventi, 90, of Hilton Head, SC, passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2026.
Mary was born and raised in Nutley, New Jersey, and was the cherished daughter of Elizabeth and Louis Viola. She was preceeded in death by her husband and love of her life Robert Viventi Jr. of Hilton Head, SC,. She is survived by her three children Robert L. Viventi and Ingrid J. Viventi of Bridgton, ME, Gregory F. Viventi of Hilton Head, SC, and Nancy Viventi Hickey and Paul E. Hickey of Hingham, MA. Her grandchildren Mackenzie (Viventi) Childress of Nashville, TN, Cydney (Viventi) Cheh of Savannah, GA, Adam Viventi of Charlotte, NC, Victoria (Viventi) Tinsley of Beaufort, SC, Leah Hickey of NY, NY and Drew Hickey of Hingham, MA. Her brothers Tom Viola, Frank Viola, and sister Louise Cremonni all proceeded Mary in death. She also leaves behind her 2 great children Marley Cheh and Robert Childress. and 14 nieces and nephews.
Growing up in a lively household, she learned the values of kindness, resilience, and faith, which have been the cornerstone of her life.
In 1958, they moved to Cincinnati, OH, and then subsequently moved to Niskayuna, NY. in 1972
In 1996, they moved to Moss Creek in Hilton Head where she enjoyed her remaining years. She embraced the active lifestyle of her community, becoming an avid tennis player, a skilled bridge player, and a gracious hostess who loved entertaining friends and family.
Mary’s greatest joy has always been her family. As a mother, she nurtured her children with care and guidance, and being a grandmother, brought her immense happiness. She celebrated her grandchildren in the most special way, by traveling with each one of them on their 16th birthday. These adventures included exploring major cities and countries, creating unforgettable memories and sharing her love for theater, discovery and connection.
Known for her warmth, strength, and generosity, Mary has been a source of inspiration and a steadfast presence in the lives of her family and friends. She lived a full life with faith, love, and adventure, leaving a legacy that will be treasured for generations to come.
