Matthew James Madden

Matthew James Madden, 38, of Bluffton, died Wednesday, December 04, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Matthew fought courageously and with a great deal of strength in his battle with pancreatic cancer. Matthew, a member of Church of the Cross, was born in Morristown, New Jersey on July 3, 1975. He was a certified instructor with the NRA and worked as a Regional Manager for Henry Schein Animal Health up until the time of his illness. From a very early age, Matthew had a great love of animals and the outdoors, which grew to be his passion. One of his proudest moments as an avid fisherman was the capture of the "great tuna". His girls brought him immeasurable joy and he cherished each and every moment with his family. Matthew will be best remembered for his incredible sense of humor, love of reading, wealth of knowledge and easy smile. Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Kelley Madden. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Kathleen Madden; daughters, Lauren, Isabel, and Brynn Madden; father, William Patrick Madden; sisters, Sarah Madden, Rachel Hooper and her husband Joseph, and Elizabeth Madden; brothers, William Madden-Fuoco and his wife Jessica, Daniel Madden, and Timothy Madden. Matthew also leaves behind his nieces Megan and Sojourner, and nephews Marty and Nicky, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Isabel and Leo Stokes, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Celia and Jeff Miller, and sister-in-law Kelly Servais. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Church of the Cross, 110 Calhoun Street, Bluffton, South Carolina 29910 with burial immediately following.
