Maureen “Mickey” Sullivan

April 14, 1938 — December 15, 2015

The world lost one of its most vibrant personalities on December 15, 2015 with the passing of Maureen “Mickey” Sullivan. Mickey is survived by her daughter Terry Cassidy & spouse Chris Foley of Massachusetts, son Bill & his wife Barbara, granddaughters Kate and Delaney Cassidy, of Portsmouth NH. She leaves her companion Bud Saxton. Mickey was the daughter of Bill Walsh and Katherine Felt and step-daughter of Ann Higgins. Mickey was pre-deceased by her sister Colleen Sullivan & brother Michael Walsh. Mickey leaves behind her niece Beth Usserry and her family. She was adored by Daphne, her dog and Bailey, Talulah and Molly, her “granddogs.” Mickey graduated from Sanborn Seminary in Kingston NH. She was proud of her service with the Marines. After retiring from AT&T, she relocated to SC. Mickey lived to golf and that’s what brought her to the south. She had a competitive spirit for sports, games and cheering for her New England teams. Mickey enjoyed many happy years at Sun City with special friends and neighbors. Mickey she loved learning, completing crossword puzzles and would have risked her life for an injured animal. She hated onions and crossing bridges and wasn’t shy about telling you this. Mickey was an assertive, passionate, and a vivid storyteller. She loved life with all her heart. She was an eternal rescuer who would help anyone in need. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and for those that know her, she leaves the world a less colorful place. A "Celebration of Mickey's Life" will be held in Sun City, in the Marshview Room, Riverbend Lodge on Saturday January 16, 2016 from 11:00am-2:00pm. You may honor Mickey's love for animals with a donation in her name to the Hilton Head Humane Association, 10 Humane Way, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926
