Maureen Ann Trecartin

Maureen was born on April 29  ^th  , 1951 and was one of eleven children, all M’s, born to John J. Shea and Jane Ann O’Grady Shea. Maureen was a graduate of Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing. She worked in the ICU at Mass. General Hospital for several years. Maureen was Head Nurse at the Renal Dialysis Unit at St. Joseph Medical Center in South Bend, IN. She was a Registered Nurse at Hospice Care of the Lowcountry for approximately 40 years. Maureen also served as a Geriatric Care Nurse at The Seabrook. She was a long-time volunteer at Deep Well and Volunteers in Medicine. Maureen had a true heart and passion for serving and helping others. She was a dedicated advocate for all in need.

Maureen was a loving mother and caring wife who was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Leigh Anderson, with whom they had two children: Erik Leigh (Jessie) and Kelly O’Grady (James). She was Goldie to her three grandchildren, Cloveleigh, Banner, and Macden. She is survived by her husband, William Trecartin, and his four children: Jo-Ellen (Marc), William (Patricia), Laura (Alan), and Tracey and their twelve grandchildren: Melissa (Brendan), Savannah (Ben), Garrett (Lauren), Scott, Kara (David), Kyle (Amy), Colleen (Robert), Mark, Rebecca (Matthew), AJ (Lauren), Billy, and Brendan (Cathren). Goldie was also a great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren: Scarlett, Aniston, Lucy, Noelle, Robby, Ryan, Emma, Oliver, Luke, Bryson, Ashlyn, and Braeden. Maureen was a beloved member of the Hilton Head community. Her home and heart were always open. All who crossed paths with Maureen felt her nurturing presence. She will be deeply missed by countless people who she called friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Dolphin Head Recreational Area, Hilton Head Plantation.

The family requests donations be made in her honor to Volunteers in Medicine.
