IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Megan Renee
Forshee
December 18, 1985 – February 9, 2026
Megan Renee Forshee, age 40, passed away of natural causes on February 9, 2026, in Bluffton, South Carolina. “Muppet” was born on December 18, 1985, in Clarkston, Michigan, and from the moment she arrived, she brought color, vibrance, and authenticity into the world.
Megan was the devoted mother of her son, Gavin Nelson, whom she loved with every part of her heart. Her pride in him was immeasurable and she always wanted the best for his future.
A gifted and award‑winning vocalist, Megan had a voice that could quiet a room or fill it with joy. Music wasn’t just a talent for her — it was a language she spoke fluently, a way she connected with others, and a reflection of her beautiful spirit. She auditioned for American Idol and while she didn’t make it onto the show, she was told her voice was like that of an angel amongst fierce competition.
Megan embraced the things she loved with enthusiasm and total authenticity. She was an animal lover, lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan, a WWE fanatic, and an active moderator for several online gaming communities, her main being The Cult Classic Social Group based out of Australia, where she built friendships, supported players, and created welcoming digital spaces long before it was common to do so.
Her love for Disney characters was well‑known, with Mulan holding a special place in her heart. Inspired by Mulan, she even owned a set of sai, which she handled with surprising proficiency--a fun and unexpected talent that delighted those who knew her.
Megan also had a unique and unmistakable personal style. She adored her jewelry, her collection of mini‑backpacks, and the keychains she loved creating. Friends and strangers alike complimented her stunning makeup and nails, always beautifully done — an outward reflection of the care and creativity she put into everything she touched. Yet as lovely as she appeared on the outside, she was even more beautiful within, kind‑hearted, witty, compassionate, and deeply loyal.
Megan was deeply loved and profoundly loyal to the customers she served at Nickel Pumpers and to the Bluffton, South Carolina community she cherished so dearly. To those who knew her, she was never simply a “cashier,” she was a comforting presence, a steady hand, someone you could lean on, and a true friend.
Her regulars always looked out for her, especially on holidays, making sure she had warm meals and reminding her through their generosity just how valued she was. Megan carried that kindness with her, grateful beyond words, and she held each and every one of you close to her heart.
Megan was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lynn and adored step-mother Joyce; her grandparents, David Forshee; Charles and Kay Maybee; and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her son, Gavin; her father, Brian Forshee; her older brothers Jason Montgomery and Kris (Andrea Dougherty) Forshee; and her younger sister Missy Forshee. She also leaves behind her nieces Zoey, Madison, and Briella, and her nephews Brycen, Riley, and Michael. In addition, Megan is survived by her stepsisters Kristie (Nathan) Ellis and Andrea (Chris Murphy) Waters, as well as her grandmother Elizabeth Forshee, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins whom she loved.
A memorial service will be held on February 28th, 2026 at Alljoy Beach, Bluffton, SC at 2pm. There will be individuals directing parking along the streets near Alljoy Road and Brighton Beach Boat Landing. Please reserve the actual spaces at Alljoy Beach for those who are in need of reserved handicapped parking, immediate family, and the general public who are not attending. All are welcome to attend and we are excited to hear your stories about Megan.
Megan will be remembered for her passion, her artistry, her humor, and the unmistakable warmth she offered to everyone lucky enough to know her. Her absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully capture, but her impact and her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she loved. We will forever miss and love you, Megan. May you watch over us and be a shining light to guide us all!
