Melany Roszkowski

Melany Roszkowski, 70, of Bluffton, SC passed away on March 25, 2023 after a battle with breast cancer.

Mrs. Roszkowski was born on April 6, 1952 in Jersey City, NJ, the daughter of the late Edward Karkos and Magdalena Sverpa.

She was a graduate of The College of New Jersey, in Ewing Township, NJ, where she earned a degree in nursing. She spent her career in healthcare, serving as a nurse and nurse case manager with The Valley Hospital Health System before retiring in 2011. Mrs. Roszkowski moved to Sun City from Ridgewood, NJ in 2012. She was an avid lover of travel, bunco, reading, and mahjong. Mrs. Roszkowki also enjoyed making homemade cards and going to the Jersey Shore every summer. Mrs. Roszkowski is survived by her son, Christopher Roszkowski of Virginia Beach, VA; her daughter, Veronica Beattie and her husband, Jason Beattie of Suwanee, GA; her brother, Steven Karkos and wife, Kathleen Karkos of Hamilton, NJ; and her grandchildren, Olivia Beattie (20), Smith Beatie (14) and Wes Beattie (11) as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Roszkowski in 2016, and her brother, Michael Karkos of Fairlawn, NJ. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Sauls Funeral Home 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2023 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton, SC 29909. Burial will follow the Mass at Low Country Memorial Gardens, Bluffton, SC.
