Michael J. Beard

Michael J. Beard, 25, son of Mary Mastroberti-Beard and the late, C. Roger Beard, was stricken ill and passed away Thursday September 18. Besides his mother he leaves, a daughter, Lydia of San Francisco, a brother, Jonathan, with whom he lived, brothers, Derek of Bluffton, Bobby of Rhode Island, and a sister, Chamoni Doamaral- Hernandez of Bluffton. He also leaves a nephew, Joshua Doamaral of Bluffton and Steve Keller whom he considered his step-father. He was the first grandchild of Maryann Mastroberti and the late Joseph Mastroberti Sr. of Massachusetts. He also leaves several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was born is Worcester, Massachusetts, lived in West Boylston, MA for several years before moving to Bluffton, SC with his family in 1998. He graduated from Bluffton High School in 2008. Michael enjoyed cooking and worked at several restaurants in the area. He also enjoyed landscaping and was employed along with his brother Jonny at horticultural services of Hilton Head. Michael had many interests. He played baseball with PALS for several years, loved the ocean and surfing, and hanging out with friends. Though he lived in SC, he remained a fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Bruins, Celtics and Red Sox. As his last unselfish act, he donated his organs to better the lives of others. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Road, Bluffton, SC 29910. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Remembrances may be made to Lifepoint, 3950 Faber Place Drive, Suite 400, Charleston, SC 29405. Mikey was much loved and will be missed by his many friends and relatives and as Horatio said, may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.
