Michael Kevin Cregg aka MIKE CREGG!!!

September 8, 1987  to February 16, 2022

He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on a Tuesday, it was the 251st day of the 9th month.  Why is that important, you ask?  It’s not… but it is a random fact and he loved those.

He is survived by his heartbroken family, Mom, Christie Padgett Cregg, Dad, Keith Cregg, Brothers, James Powell, Mitchell Cregg and Isaiah Cregg, Sister, Victoria Cregg and his Daughter, Scarlett Cregg.  He had aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family that he loved dearly.

Michael, whom he would tell you that only his mom called him, always had a way with people.  He never met a stranger; they were just people he had not met yet.  It is no wonder that on September 4, 2021 he had a sudden cardiac arrest and was placed into an induced coma.  He fought for 5 months before that big beautiful heart could not take anymore, so on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at 9:30am he went home to meet his maker, while his momma held his hand and he smelled her perfume, one last time.

Michael was not a “bible thumper” as he would say but he was well aware of mortality.  Although he was not perfect and sinned and made mistakes like the rest of us, he believed and his family has no doubts, they will see him again.

Michael never wanted to be an old man. He never thought of himself that way. As a teenager he would tell his mom, I’m never living to be 20.  On his 20th birthday, she harassed him all day about making it to 20 and asking what his new date would be…so in true “MIKE CREGG” style, he said, 25 it is. This banter continued for years until he was 30.  Well, he made it to 30 but instead that year he said “Well… I guess I’ll just live forever.”  We surely wished he would have lived to be an old man; he would have been a funny one.

Michael lived his life, his own way and on his own terms… it has cost us who love him, a vacancy in our hearts and lives but he will be always be alive to us through our memories.

We will have his Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 12, 2022, 11:00am at LowCountry Community Church, 801 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton, SC 29910.  The dress code will be casual, bright colors.  He was a cutoff jeans and t-shirt kinda man but if you like to dress up or wear black, that is ok too.

The service will include some family members who are scheduled to speak.  Lunch will be provided afterwards, as well as, a time of reliving ‘Mike Cregg’ and his shenanigans.  We will have a microphone available for anyone to share, we are calling it ‘Open Mike’ time. Uhhh, keep it PG though.

If you are unable to attend, it will be livestreamed.  In lieu of flowers we are asking you to donate to the GoFundMe account below.  His parents will set up a savings account for his daughter.  They want to be able to provide for her like her father would have done.
