Michael Charles DeCamp

Michael Charles DeCamp, 79, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026 at his home after a brave battle with stomach cancer. He was surrounded by his family in his last moments. Mike lived a life full of quiet strength, hard work, and deep love for his family. He was full of life experience and always had a story to tell when the grandkids were around.

Growing up in Iowa, Mike graduated in 1968 from Central College in Pella, Iowa. Some of his fondest memories were from his days at Central College where he served as starting quarterback for the football team. He still holds the school’s record for fewest interceptions in a regular season.

Following his college days, Mike built a successful career in the kitchen appliance industry, serving in leadership roles across the country from California to North Carolina. His work was an important part of his life, and he was known for his strong work ethic, steady leadership, and commitment to the people he led.

Throughout his battle with stomach cancer, Mike was blessed by the love and care of his wife, Terry, who remained by his side.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and JoAnn DeCamp. He is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Terry; his daughter, Daina (John) King; and his cherished grandchildren, Ava, Emma, and Charles Michael. He is also survived by Wanda, his former wife and mother of his daughter, Daina.

The family will gather for a private service at a later date to honor and celebrate his life and the wonderful memories that will live on.
