Michael James Donley

It is with great sadness that the family of Michael James Donley announces his passing on Monday June 18, 2018, at the age of 71. Mike was born in New Castle, PA. He excelled in both academics and athletics at Shenango High School and then received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point. He also studied at Youngstown State University and Webster University, where he received an MBA. As an industrial engineer, Mike had a successful career, retiring from Gregory Galvanizing in Canton, OH. Mike was an avid golfer and a volunteer and coach for youth sports organizations. Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Margie and his children Mark of Mount Pleasant, Melissa of St. Petersburg, FL, Megan (Eric) Mills of Charleston, and Michelle Holmes of Boston, MA. Mike was preceded in death by his parents James Wesley Donley and Sara Marie Wellhausen Donley Black and his grandson Asher Kenneth Mills. Sauls Funeral Home of Bluffton is assisting the family with a private funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Asher Mills Foundation, 37 Poplar Street, Charleston, SC 29403.
