Michael F. Fuhrman, 70, passed peacefully into his Saviour's arms on October 15, 2010 at his home in Bluffton, SC after a short illness.Mr. Fuhrman was born on December 8, 1939 in Ardmore, PA to the late Virginia & Frank Fuhrman.Mr. Fuhrman moved from Skillman, NJ to a long awaited retirement in Bluffton in 2004, where he immensely enjoyed life and making so many new friends.He is survived by his spouse of 34 years, Sandra Locklar Fuhrman of Bluffton, SC. He became the father of Sandra's two sons, Todd Poje Fuhrman (Bethlehem, PA) and Jeffrey Poje (Bluffton, SC).Mr. Fuhrman has four children by a previous marriage: Carol Hoch (Harleysville, PA), Jim Fuhrman (Royersford, PA), Steve Fuhrman (Voorhees, NJ) and Karen Fuhrman (New York, NY).Mr. Fuhrman was a graduate of Greenville College, Greenville, IL and had a professional career that spanned 45 years. Upon graduation he started out as a research scientist with Continental Can Corp. in Chicago, IL, next he worked with Carter Wallace in NJ as a packaging engineer, moved on to Johnson & Johnson as a Marketing Director. The favorite part of his career came with Twin County Grocers (Foodtown Stores) in Edison, NJ where he took an in-house packaging department to a profit center. He continued in that vein when he formed a subsidiary company for Twin County called Twinco Graphics. He was responsible for the development and operation of this company as it too became an in-house profit center for the corporation. He left for an opportunity to join Daymon Worldwide in New York City, who works with suppliers and retailers throughout the world to develop and promote brands through innovative business solutions and services. Daymon has been and remains the world's leading Private Brand expert. After leaving Daymon, he pursued mini-careers that pleased him -- Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Willow Company where he enjoyed working directly with the customers in jewelry sales. For the past five years, he has become affectionately know as "Michaelangelo" by his customers -- he started painting home interiors in the area and just loved all of his customers.Memorials: to LowCountry Community Church, 801 Buckwalter Parkway, Bluffton, SC 29910A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 18 at LowCountry Community Church.
