Michael Morris

Michael Morris, 66, of Sun City, South Carolina passed away in his home on February 8th after a short illness. He died peacefully surrounded by his wife and family.

Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Francis and Marie Morris, he attended Cranford High School in Cranford, New Jersey before joining the Navy. After his tour of duty Michael moved to Vermont where he worked for several years in the ski industry and where he met and married his wife, Kathy Tracy, formerly of Medford, Massachusetts. He attended the Culinary Institute of America before moving to Maine in 1979. He and Kathy lived in the coastal village of York for 35 years where they indulged their passion for sailing and where Michael continued to delight friends and family with his creations in the kitchen.

In addition to his wife, Kathy, Michael leaves his sister: Kathleen Morris of Pittsboro, North Carolina, Eileen Collins of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Carole Henley of Slidell, Louisiana. He also leaves his brother, Daniel Morris of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Maine.
