Michael George Petty

Michael George Petty, 62 of Bluffton, SC passed away on Wednesday, February 09, 2011 at his home after a valiant battle with cancer.He was born in Miami, Florida on December 18, 1948. He was the son of the late Clifford Adrian and Edith J. Diglio Petty. He was the General Manger for several car dealerships including Hilton Head Honda and Rick Hendrick Midlands Honda. He was a US Air Force veteran. He was a member of Church Of The Cross. He is survived by his wife, Susan Prescott Petty of Bluffton; his step mother, Anita B. Petty of Vero Beach, FL; two sons, Christopher G. (Beckie) Petty of Lexington, SC, Adrian M. Petty of Bluffton, SC; two stepsons, Guy P. (Renee) Ackerman of Charleston, SC and Jared C. Ackerman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; two sisters, Gina P. (Alan) Boiko of Bradenton, FL and Maryann P. (Tom) Atkins of Pfafftown, NC; one step brother, Wayne (Helen) Boulier of Davie, FL; one grandchild, William Michael Petty and five nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 14, 2011 at The Church of The Cross, 110 Calhoun St., Bluffton with burial at 3:30 pm in the Sumter Cemetery, Sumter, SC. A reception will be held immediately following the 10:00 am service in The Church of The Cross Social Hall.The family will receive friends from 4 til 6 Sunday afternoon, February 13, 2011 at Sauls Funeral Home, 90 Simmonsville Rd, Bluffton. The family requests memorial gifts be made to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry, The Church of The Cross, or The American Cancer Society.
